Dorthee Soelle Blasts Legislative Inaction

Dorthee Soelle, head of the Social Democrats of Dorvik had harsh words today for the government's decision to block a number of labour and foreign policy legislative proposals.

"To reject the ban on the possibilities of using nuclear, biological, and chemical weapons places us at risk in terms of instigating a potential arms race and it places Dorvik outside of the community of nations who rightfully abhor such unthinkable weapons," Soelle said.

And when it comes to improving the lot of working families the government has faired no better, killing a proposal to encourage worker councils and voting against the Trade Union Freedom Bill, a key reform that the labour movement has long sought.

Soelle argued that the SDD would seek to raise up these issues in the up and coming election. "We can have a government that values working families and peace" Soelle said at a rally later that day. "But it will take all of you getting involved to make it happen."
